As the Mental Health group of the Southwest Medical Village, Specialty Clinic of Austin offers comprehensive assessment, formal diagnosis, medication evaluation and management. All of our providers can address a wide range of issues, but if they believe an outside physician would be more appropriate, our staff will gladly provide you with a referral. We provide our services to children (as young as 5 years of age), adolescents, and adults up to 55. Please keep in mind that if extensive psychotherapy is needed, you may be referred to a psychotherapist that can better fit your needs.
Statewide shortages in mental health and a struggling economy combined to make access to mental health care a challenging prospect for many people in Central Texas. SCOA contracts with several insurance companies to offer better access to Expert Care, and can guide you through the process of claim reimbursement if your insurance is not accepted at SCOA.
